Camp Chef Hardwood Chips are not a byprouct. It is 100% pure virgin hardwoods. While not to be confused with hardwood pellets, Camp Chef Chips are not to be dumped in the pellet grill hopper. Chips are safe to use in all electric smokers, gas and charcoal grills with the addition of a Smoke Tube or Smoke Box (found on the XXL Pro and Woodwind Pro.) Some Electric Smokers may have a compatible chip tray.
