Rooftop Tents

I've had the Pinnacle for 4 months now and slept in it roughly 30 nights. I love how quick and easy it is to set up and take down with 1 person. The internal headroom when riding out a rainstorm is great and comfortable enough for 2 people to play cards or watch a movie. I set up the side windows from inside the tent easy as. I recommend playing around with bungee tension and placement when taking down the tent to keep it from bulging out due to air pressure closing the lid. Also I added another 30mm mattress for extra comfort. The head vent was great for airflow and of all the days spent, I only got a bit of condensation 2 nights. Side note: make sure your roof racks have a dynamic load range above 100kgs as the tent is heavy. I had to beef up mine to handle it. The only downsides I've found: it's a bit taller than other hardshell tents when closed, so wind drag is real. Play around with tensions for the door side of the tent as sometimes I got a bit of pooling in heavy rain, although I never had any leaking.

After weeks of looking at every RTT online I settled on this. The 10,000mm waterproofness is by far the highest I have seen for a RTT. I was also drawn to how light it was. I have it set up on my off road trailer.I even managed to lift it on top all by myself. The black out is super dark. I like how the road cover also zips onto the frame, all the way around. My only gripe is that the little end protectors from the metal and fibre poles have fallen off as they are not glued and the small window tensioning poles seem slightly too long and a bit fiddly to put in. But these are minor faults and definitely do not take away from the quality of the product. Highly recommend.

The summit extended roof tent is a great design. Its looks, practically and comfort is superior. The weather shields create great airflow in any conditions, you can leave the windows open and not have to worry about the rain driving in, also the way it comes out over your car is another place for cover and to add a annex room. Personally I think it's the best soft shell roof tent you can buy and the team at kiwi camping a great to deal with! Can't wait for the weekends
